Tour Itinerary
Early in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Marsa Alam in a private A.C. vehicle for a luxurious day trip to the ancient city of Luxor. Accompanied by your private tour guide, you’ll explore the renowned historical sites, including:
Valley of the Kings :
The Valley of the Kings is a timeless masterpiece, serving as a golden history book nestled deep within a sacred hill on the west bank of the Nile, opposite Luxor, and at the heart of the Theban Necropolis. Beneath its surface lie 63 royal tombs belonging to some of the greatest pharaohs of the 18th, 19th, and 20th dynasties of the New Kingdom (1570 – 1050 BC), including Ramses II, Hatshepsut, Seti I, Tutankhamun, and many others. This valley is particularly renowned for the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb, one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world. In 1979, it was designated a World Heritage Site, alongside the entire Theban Necropolis.
Hatshepsut Temple:
The stunning Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (1507–1458 BC), known as the “Holy of the Holies,” was constructed over a span of 15 years atop the majestic cliffs of Deir El Bahari in 1479 BC. This remarkable structure was built to honor the creator sun god Amun and to immortalize the magnificent legacy of Hatshepsut, one of the most successful pharaohs in ancient Egyptian history. It has earned its reputation as the most well-preserved and enchanting example of classical ancient Egyptian architecture in the world.
Colossi of Memnon :
The cosmic Colossi of Memnon of Pharaoh Amenhotep III (1386 – 1349 BC) was constructed in 1350 BC to stand at the gates of his faded temple that no longer exists. It changed its shape and looks many times after being renovated and rebuilt countless times and during the Greco-Roman period when known for its Vocal Phenomenon at dawn. The two great statues contain several mystical decorations showcasing the history of himself, his family, and images of the Nile god Hapi.
Lunch Time:
Then move to have your lunch on an island, so your tour includes a boat trip on the Nile River followed by a guided tour to visit:
Karnak Temple :
The magnificent Karnak Temple Complex stands as a testament to the power of faith and the religious devotion of the ancient Egyptians, having become the largest religious complex in the world. Constructed between 2000 BC and 30 BC, spanning the Middle Kingdom to the Greco-Roman period, it encompasses 247 acres of land and features numerous temples and shrines dedicated to various deities. For over 1,500 years, it served as a central gathering place for the worship of the Theban triad: Amun, Mut, and Khonsu.
Visitors can marvel at the divine Avenue of Sphinxes, the enchanting Hypostyle Hall, and a wealth of intricate carvings and paintings that showcase the artistry of the time. At the end of your visit, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Marsa Alam in a private air-conditioned vehicle, concluding your memorable day trip from Marsa Alam to Luxor.
