An overland Egypt tour explores the country entirely by private vehicle coach, minibus, or car without a Nile cruise component. You stay in hotels in each city (Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Alexandria) and travel between destinations by road. Overland packages suit travellers who prefer hotel-based flexibility, want to cover more cities in one trip, or have a shorter time frame than a multi-day cruise allows.
Key driving times with private transport: Cairo to Alexandria 2.5 hours; Cairo to Luxor 7–8 hours (often done as an overnight leg); Luxor to Aswan 3 hours; Aswan to Abu Simbel 3.5 hours. All overland transfers use private air-conditioned vehicles with professional drivers. Long intercity legs can be replaced with domestic flights on request.

Yes, if you request it when you book. On the road between Luxor and Aswan, you can visit Edfu and Kom Ombo temples, and we will quote the stops and entrance fees in advance. Stops cannot be added on the day of the transfer.
