Tour Itinerary
In the morning, your professional tour guide will pick you up from your hotel or anywhere you decide in Luxor by a modern air-conditioned vehicle to explore Luxor East Bank including:
Karnak Temple
The magnificent Karnak Temple Complex is a vast open-air museum that served as the religious capital of Upper Egypt from 2055 BC until the Ptolemaic era in 100 AD. It houses the largest collection of ancient Egyptian temples and statues in the world. After your visit, you will be escorted to your 5-star deluxe Nile cruise for check-in, where you can enjoy lunch onboard. Afterward, relax in your cabin, and in the evening, you will be taken to visit:
Luxor Temple by Night
The ancient Egyptian Temple of Karnak, established in 1400 BC during the reign of Amenhotep III and completed by Ramses II, was the site of the grand Festival of Opet, celebrating the divine power of the pharaohs. Only the enchanting moonlight of night could unveil its beauty and ancient secrets. After your visit, you will return for an overnight stay onboard the cruise.
Breakfast on board then you will be accompanied to discover the sites of the West Bank including:
Valley of the Kings
During the New Kingdom (1570-1070 BC), ancient royalty aimed to immortalize their names and ensure a safe passage to the afterlife. This led to the creation of 20 royal tombs, adorned with golden treasures, artifacts, and exquisite decorations, nestled alongside their mummies. Notable tombs include those of Ramses VI, Amenhotep I, Seti I, Tutankhamun, and many more, all located in the legendary Valley of the Kings.
Hatshepsut Temple
One of the most captivating architectural masterpieces of the ancient Egyptian empire is the Hatshepsut Temple, which highlights the significance of Queen Hatshepsut (1507-1458 BC). The temple’s design is a stunning example of classical New Kingdom architecture, showcasing artistry and grandeur that reflects the era’s remarkable achievements.
Colossi of Memnon
The Colossi of Memnon were erected by Pharaoh Amenhotep III (1386-1350 BC) in Cairo and later relocated to stand at the entrance of Luxor. Each colossal statue towers at 18 meters (60 feet) and weighs an impressive 720 tons. After your visit, return to the cruise ship for a delightful lunch onboard as you begin your sailing journey, enjoying the night on the cruise.
Edfu temple :
The Temple of Edfu, constructed between 237 BC and 57 BC during the Ptolemaic era, is one of the few temples built in ancient Egypt to serve as the official sanctuary of the sky god Horus. Its design beautifully merges Greek and ancient Egyptian architectural elements in a captivating manner. Enjoy a delicious lunch onboard the cruise as you sail towards Kom Ombo. Upon arrival, you will be guided in a modern, air-conditioned vehicle to:
Kom Ombo Temple :
The unique double temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the crocodile god, is situated on the banks of the Nile and was constructed during the Greco-Roman period between 205 BC and 180 BC. After your visit, return to the cruise and continue sailing to Aswan, where you will spend the night onboard.
Breakfast boxes then you will begin an early morning trip to Abu Simbel by a modern A/C vehicle, guided by your tour guide and witness:
Abu Simbel Temples
The two temples of Abu Simbel, constructed by Ramses II (1292-1186 BC), are remarkable monuments of ancient Egypt. The larger temple was built to honor Amun and serves as the focal point for the annual Sun Festival, celebrated on February 22 and October 22. The smaller temple is dedicated to his beloved queen, Nefertari. After your visit, we will drive you back to the Nile cruise for lunch and an overnight stay onboard.
Aswan High Dam
Between 1960 and 1970, the formidable Aswan High Dam was constructed to manage the Nile’s floodwaters, enhance water storage for irrigation, and generate significant amounts of electricity.
The Unfinished Obelisk
Originally intended to stand at the entrance of Karnak Temple under the order of Queen Hatshepsut, this magnificent obelisk unfortunately cracked during construction. Standing 42 meters tall and weighing 1,200 tons, it showcases the remarkable craftsmanship of ancient Egyptian builders. Afterward, lunch will be served at a high-quality restaurant before we move on to explore:
Philae Temple
The legendary Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess of motherhood and healing, Isis—wife of Osiris, the ruler of the underworld—was constructed between 380 BC and 362 BC by King Ptolemy II to tell an ancient story. Finally, we will transfer you to your hotel or any location of your choice in Aswan.
