Tour Itinerary
In the morning, you’ll meet your tour guide, who will accompany you as you embark on your 7-night Nile cruise from Luxor to explore the historical attractions on the East Bank.
Karnak Temple
The Karnak Temple Complex is a breathtaking testament to ancient architecture and artistry, historically known as pet-isu or “The Most Select of Places” during the Middle Kingdom, and referred to as Pr-Imn or “House of Amon.” Established between 2000 BC and 30 BC, this expansive site spans 247 acres of sacred Theban land and was built to honor the Theban triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. Notable highlights include the Precinct of Amun-Re, the grand Hypostyle Hall, and the enchanting Avenue of Sphinxes, which connects to the magnificent Luxor Temple.
After your visit, you will check in to your 5-star Nile cruise for lunch and some time to relax. In the evening, we will pick you up for an exciting experience:
Luxor Temple
The enchanting Southern Sanctuary of Luxor Temple, often referred to as the “Creator of Kings,” was constructed around 1400 BC, primarily by Amenhotep III and Ramses II. This magnificent temple honors the Theban triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu, and serves as the venue for the Opet Festival, which celebrates the rejuvenation of kingship and the connection between royal lineage and divine power. After your visit to the temple, return to the cruise for dinner and enjoy a restful night onboard.
The second day of your 8 days Nile River cruise from Luxor will be free to enjoy the cruise while sailing to Edfu.
In the morning, you will have the breakfast and will be escorted by your personal Egyptologist in a horse carriage to visit:
Edfu temple :
Edfu Temple is a captivating stone narrative that illustrates the legendary battle between Horus and his malevolent uncle Set. Constructed between 237 BC and 57 BC on the west bank of the Nile in Upper Egypt, just 60 km north of Aswan, it is celebrated as one of the best-preserved archaeological sites in Egypt. After your visit, return to your cruise for lunch and dinner, and enjoy an overnight stay onboard in Aswan, following a late-night arrival.
Enjoy your breakfast, then move to complete your 8 Day Nile cruise from Luxor by a tour to Aswan Highlights where you will visit:
Aswan High Dam
The remarkable Aswan High Dam was built between the 1960s and 1970s to bring lasting benefits to Egypt’s future, economy, and culture, enabling the nation to fully embrace the advancements of the industrial age.
The Unfinished Obelisk
The majestic Unfinished Obelisk of Queen Hatshepsut (1508–1458 BC) serves as a remarkable open-air museum in Egypt, highlighting the extraordinary skill and craftsmanship of ancient Egyptian builders. Originally intended to soar to 41.75 meters (137.0 feet) in height, it was meant to adorn the grand entrance of the Karnak Temple Complex alongside the Lateran Obelisk (now in Rome). Unfortunately, construction was halted when a crack appeared, leaving the obelisk unfinished.
Philae Temple
The legendary Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, who represents beauty and motherhood, preserves the timeless “Myth of Osiris.” Originally constructed between 380 and 362 BC by King Ptolemy II, the temple was relocated to Agilkia Island in the 1970s as part of UNESCO’s Nubia Campaign, which aimed to protect it from the rising waters caused by the construction of the Aswan High Dam. After your visit, return to your cruise to enjoy lunch and dinner onboard, followed by an overnight stay.
In the early morning, pick up your breakfast boxes and meet your private tour guide for an exclusive, guided tour of the Abu Simbel Temples.
Abu Simbel Temples
The magnificent Temples of Abu Simbel stand as a powerful testament to the grandeur of Ramses the Great (1279–1213 BCE), who dedicated over 20 years to their construction, from 1264 to 1244 BC. These temples honor the gods Amun, Ra, and Ptah, as well as commemorate his military victory at the Battle of Kadesh. The renowned temple of King Ramses II continues to host the extraordinary Sun Festival each year on October 22 and February 22. The second temple is a stunning dedication to his beloved wife, Queen Nefertari. After your visit, return to the cruise to enjoy a delicious lunch and dinner onboard, followed by an overnight stay.
In the morning, begin your journey sailing to Kom Ombo while enjoying breakfast onboard the cruise. Upon arrival in Kom Ombo, meet your tour guide to begin your visit.
Kom Ombo Temple
The double temples of Kom Ombo, known as the “Hill of Gold,” were constructed between 205 and 180 BC during the reign of King Ptolemy V of the Ptolemaic dynasty. These temples served as the worship site for Haroeris, or “Horus the Elder,” on the northern side, and Sobek, the crocodile god of the Nile, on the southern side. This architectural marvel features two perfectly symmetrical temples that highlight medical and astronomical knowledge from that era in Egypt. After your visit, you will continue sailing to Luxor, arriving late at night. Lunch and dinner will be served onboard the cruise.
Continue your trip with your tour guide and enjoy a tour of Luxor West Bank starting by:
Valley of the Kings
The Valley of the Kings is a treasure of royal heritage that has withstood the test of time, nestled in the heart of an underground hill within the Theban necropolis. This enchanting subterranean labyrinth is home to 63 royal tombs dating from the 18th to the 20th dynasty of the great Pharaohs of the New Kingdom (1570 – 1050 BC), including illustrious figures such as Ramses the Great, Hatshepsut, Seti I, Tutankhamun, and many others.
Hatshepsut Temple
The enchanting mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut (1507–1458 BC) is a stunning example of classical artistic architecture, earning it the title of “Holy of the Holies.” Constructed in 1479 BC during the New Kingdom (1570 – 1050 BC), the temple features three massive levels that exemplify architectural perfection, eternalizing her remarkable achievements while primarily honoring the creator sun god, Amun.
Colossi of Memnon
The enduring Colossi of Memnon of Pharaoh Amenhotep III (1386 – 1349 BC) was built in 1350 BC and its quartzite sandstone constructions were renovated countless across history. It displays decorations on its sides showcasing his family, achievements, and the depiction of the Nile god Hapi. Return to the cruise for lunch & dinner and overnight.
Check out after breakfast and transfer to anywhere ever you want in Luxor to end your experience through the heart of Egypt.
