Your first stop is the renowned Aswan High Dam, an engineering marvel that has had a significant impact on Egypt’s modern history. This dam was constructed during the 1960s to control the annual flooding of the Nile River, safeguarding Egypt from potential disaster.
Following your visit to the High Dam, you’ll set sail aboard a Nile motorboat to reach the majestic Philae Temple. This temple complex, dedicated to the goddess Isis, was relocated to its current location on Philae Island to save it from the rising waters caused by the construction of the High Dam. The temple is a testament to ancient Egyptian architecture and devotion.
As your day unfolds, you will have the opportunity to disembark from the cruise. You’ll enjoy a delicious lunch onboard the cruise, along with afternoon tea, dinner, and even an evening disco party. The cruise will remain docked overnight in Aswan.
Your day begins with an extraordinary excursion to the Abu Simbel Temple Complex. At around 4:30 AM, your guide will pick you up for this adventure, and you’ll be sharing the experience with a small group of fellow travelers. The journey to Abu Simbel is well worth the early start.
You’ll arrive at Abu Simbel around 8 AM to visit one of the most awe-inspiring sites in Egypt: the rock-cut temples of Abu Simbel. The temple’s origins date back to the Middle Kingdom, with some references suggesting even earlier constructions dating back to the 3rd Dynasty.
Following your exploration of Karnak, your next destination is the Temple of Luxor. This temple was initially built during the 12th Dynasty and later completed by the renowned Pharaoh Ramses II.
